Air Conditioning Service
Air Conditioning Recharge and Refresh
Stay Cool, Breathe Cleaner Air
Keep your vehicle's air conditioning running efficiently while helping remove bacteria, mould and unpleasant odours from inside your cabin. Our fully trained technicians will inspect, recharge and refresh your A/C system using the correct refrigerant gas for your vehicle.
Most vehicles in the UK use either R134a or R1234yf refrigerant gas. These gases are not interchangeable, and each system uses different recharge ports to prevent incorrect filling and your vehicle's air conditioning system.
What’s Included with an IN‘n’OUT Air Conditioning Service
We visually inspect the air conditioner compressor drive belt, serpentine belt and all accessible components for cracks, leaks or damage. We then check the operation of the compressor. If no leaks or damage are detected, then we evacuate the refrigerant gas, vacuum test it, and recharge the air conditioning system using the appropriate refrigerant gas for your vehicle.
We also use specialised air conditioning oil with UV dye during the recharge process to help identify hidden leaks within the system.
In addition, we recommend an extra decontamination treatment to kill all bacteria.

Cool, Calm and Conditioned
Your vehicle manufacturer recommends that you recharge your Air Conditioning system every 2 years. Because this system is not checked as part of the MOT test or scheduled service, it is important to ensure that you manually include recharging the system as part of your vehicle's routine maintenance.
Your vehicle's Air Conditioning system may require a new type of refrigerant gas
Developed in conjunction with all major car manufacturers, R1234yf is the new, lower emission Air Conditioning standard for all vehicles produced for EU countries from 2013. All IN‘n’OUT Autocentres now have next generation R1234yf units that meet the highest standards in performance, safety and efficiency.
Upon arrival, our technicians will confirm the correct type of Air Conditioning gas for your car. If you have booked the incorrect type of gas, we will advise you in advance that you may need to pay the difference for the new correct type of gas for your car. And vice versa, we will immediately refund the difference, should your car require the older R134a gas, but you paid online for the R1234yf gas.
IN‘n’OUT Air Conditioning Refresh
Over time, bacteria, mold, and even fungi can build up in the evaporator of your vehicles Air Conditioning System. This can lead to bad odors and unpleasant smells. In some cases, can lead to sickness and respiratory problems as the spores are inhaled by passengers in the vehicle cabin.
Our A/C Debug and Cleaning process uses a special anti-bacterial solution to remove harmful bacteria and mold from your vehicles A/C system and evaporator. This treatment is additional £20 and is included as part of the Air Conditioning Service.
